5 days 8 hours to the Paralympics – Tickets and the Mint

March 8, 2010

There are tickets still available to most Paralympic events, both in Vancouver and in Whistler.  If you don’t have any yet you should visit Vancouver 2010 and get some now.  They are a really great price (starting from $15!) and this will be some of the most intense sport you’ve ever seen in your life.  If you think hockey is a bit rough then you’ve never seen ice sledge hockey!  And the downhill skiers?  They can get going over 100km an hour!  I don’t even care to think of the damage I would do to myself at even a third of that speed!  I still need to get my Opening Ceremony tickets (starting from $30, and if you’re a volunteer there’s a discount from that!), some wheelchair curling tickets and if at all possible a ticket for the Closing Ceremony.  The only problem so far is that the tickets for the Closing Ceremony are sold out.  Hmm… gotta keep my eyes open!

The Royal Canadian Mint pavilion will be open during the Paralympics, but in a different location.  If you’d like a chance to see the Vancouver 2010 medals just visit the pavilion now located at the Vancouver Public Library.  It will be opening on March 12th through 21st and will operate on the Library’s schedule of Monday to Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Raven art piece by Corinne Hunt used for the etchings on the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Medals.

 Thank you merci!
