95 days to go – Would like to post my map!

November 9, 2009

Does anyone know how I make a Google Earth map with personal places map available to everyone?  I have been working on a map that has the official, peripheral and “non-official” venues on it, including Canada Hockey Place, Molson Canadian Hockey House, Alberta House and Swiss House and it even comes with a legend, but I cannot figure out how to make this file available to everyone easily… Suggestions??

Just a quick one tonight!

The Aussies announced their uniforms, an alpine set of uniforms with a ‘snowgum’ feel.  And I can attest, skiing amongst eucalyptus trees is odd!

The colours are inspired by snowgum trees in the Aussie alpine as well as by gold, the colour everyone wants to win!

And to add to yesterday’s medal count… Charles Hamelin added a bronze medal in men’s 1,000m long track speed skating and Christina Nesbitt won another gold in the women’s 1,500m long track speed skating competition.  And also, Vanessa Crone and Paul Poirier won ice dance bronze at the NHK Trophy figure skating competition.  Congrats ot all of our Canadian athletes!  We are proud of all of you!

And lastly for tonight, don’t forget to enter my contest for a Mascot Birthday pin!!  Please do take some time and comment today, and answer the following question to have your chance to win a Mascot Birthday pin!!

Question: What word is Mukmuk’s name derived from?  And what was the original language?  I will put your name into the draw a second time if you can tell me what sports equipment is in Mukmuk’s burrow in his intro video on the Vancouver 2010 website!

I did get the pins today, but then left them at work!!  So I will fetch them tomorrow and put the photo up!

    Hi, Andrea …

Google has some pretty good instructions on making a personal map.
You can find them here –
They even have a great video tutorial!

If you have any problems, email me and I might be able to help out.

    Cheers .. Kate
